Our last day of Orientation went great. The students now have two lessons ready to go and they are feeling more confident about teaching in Trang. We were joined by two more educators from Trang, Sarapii, the vice-director, and Keo, an English teachers. They brought with them two vans and a truck to take us to Trang in the morning. Despite their long 9-hour drive, which they get to repeat tomorrow, they were in high spirts and full of energy. Keo even taught us Thai for two hours from a book he prepared just for us. We were impresed with his great warm and skilful teaching style. We learned a lot in a short amount of time.
In addition to our group coming, they have a major event on Friday - Sports day - and they cell phones have been ringing off the hook as others back at the school call with questions to get things ready. We have been so deeply touched with how accommodating and gracious they have been to our group. They are truly wonderful people, and we look forward to helping them and the students in their schools.
